Sociological Deception and Scientific Illiteracy

The next great wave of movies will have to deal with sociological deception in the face of scientific problems. Basically, people will be fed a deception around a real scientific problem as a way to make them digest the issue more and go with the narrative without causing too much confusion or chaos. Notice I said deception, not a lie. Deceptions can be based on a true statement.

Deception: New coronavirus discovered in China. Origins are unknown AT THE MOMENT.

Lie: New coronavirus discovered in China. Comes from eating bat soup.

Basically, it’s a new wave of movies that are going to give STEM people a rough blueprint to combat anti-science movements. It will give normal non-STEM folks an economic and political reason to go with the narrative and know when to “question” the experts.

It’s like this if I told you that a human variant of the mad cow disease was spreading how would that make you feel? Since most of the world’s population eats beef that would cause a lot of chaos. The words “mad cow DISEASE.” are enough to cause panic. But what if it was framed as “cows INFECTED with gonorrhea are being slaughtered. No chance humans get this unless they fuck cows.”

In the example above it’s important to realize the PUBLIC PERCEPTION around the differences the words disease and infection cause. Disease to most people implies something really bad. Whereas an infection implies something a little less bad.

The movie Contagion tried to expose a real scientific problem, but what it failed to do was try and explain where the areas of public deception were occurring and why.

Why are movies going forward going to expose the sociology behind scientific problems? Because simply had people been more aware as to why Covid-19 lockdowns were necessary on a sociological level then they would have gone with the governmental and media narratives on the scientific level regardless of what their political leanings are.

The world would be much more harmonious had we continued the lockdowns. We opened up too early because people thought way too much like a wagie. Had people realized why money printing is a good thing and engaged in de-centralized unionization in regards to market control for the cost of goods then we’d be in a much better place. However, this one paragraph is the thinking of an idealist as most people cannot comprehend groupthink without it having a negative connotation in the mind.

People in the west are really against any form of collectivism because it’s usually hard right-wing nutjobs and fake-communist left-wing nutjobs that show the real ugliness of collectivism. The real benefits of covid-19 will be seen abroad in places like Asia and Africa where the social isolation and social distancing have caused a great deal of harmony in these societies. As I have repeated before people outside of the United States are very capable of finding a balance between individualism and collectivism.

The anti-vax movement was a major fuckup on the part of the medical industry. They underestimated the power of stupid people taking the elements within a vaccine out of context and spinning it into a massive “movement.” They did almost nothing to combat this movement because being the arrogant liberals most STEM people are, they will think that reason will prevail to even the most right-wing nutjobs of the population. Hopefully, this next wave of Hollywood movies focuses on combatting this idiotic mass manifestation. What a lot of these anti-vax idiots and STEM people don’t realize is that there is a fine line between QUESTIONING things and making a judgment that’s antithetical to reason because you’re “anti-establishement.”

The Zika virus outbreak in 2016 should have warned the scientific community about the lack of regard most people have for their own health. Had they combated the anti-vax and anti-science movements that were peaking in 2016 then the whole covid-19 pandemic would have gone out without much of a hitch.

Hopefully, this new form of propaganda regarding sociology and science can really make anti-establishment people stop and consider asking the question “Do I have any real knowledge on what I’m fighting against?” Once this question gets framed in a targeted way then you will see many of these fringe movements die down. You cannot do it with politics as everyone thinks they are political experts, but you can do it with something medical like a virus where when push comes to shove they will most certainly listen to the experts.

So how will these movies be framed? Who will fund them? That’s the 25 billion dollar question. The wave of sci-fi movies will be a multibillion-dollar bubble as a way for people to get entrenched in the new era of the internet. The framing of these movies will always be based on viruses being used for political gain as that’s how most people will be able to digest the context of the films.
