Shashwat’s journey into the abyss.

This blog, diary, or whatever you want to call it was started by me Shashwat Pyakuryal to record my writing abilities and improve as I go along. I will post anything that comes to mind. Maybe I have a new story I want to write or I will write opinion pieces on current events that intrigue me or I will write my theories on whatever. This blog has no clear purpose other than just me writing what’s on my mind. I tried to be focus on just one genre, but for a person like me with an attention span of a five year old I must write about multiple things. Hope you all enjoy. Please give me ideas on what to write about. I will try my best to accommodate all requests.

For starters I will mainly write about my time Vietnam as I had lived there from July 2018 until July 2021. I came back to the USA just one week ago and I want to start something new as a way to escape the boredom and predictability of American life.

Many people will ask: “Shashwat why pay all that money just to write about what’s on your mind?” My retort to that is simple. Turkeys can be finished, writers can never be finished. I do this as a way to maintain my sanity. I can look back and ask myself why I wrote this, what my mood was like when I wrote this, and how could I have made this piece of writing better.

My time in Vietnam taught me one thing mainly and its this: never give up your ability question your reality and to think critically. The reason I say this cannot be mentioned. You MUST live in this part of the world to truly understand that statement.

Why do I call this my journey into the abyss? Simple. When I think about a fictional story or a current event I think of every scenario associated with it and try to make a story out of it, it’s a blessing in the sense that I know that it can help me with writing, but a curse knowing that it will cause me to overthink. But my writing helps me cope with overthinking so they both cancel each other out. When I post something it will be tagged under these things for you to know.
