Web 3 And Why Now You Need To Be In It

Purpose

The purpose of web 3 is about decentralized identities and decentralized communities. The mass decentralization of the human species is going to bring about a much-needed calm in society. Why a calm? Simply put in the next ten years most jobs will be done at home and you will not need to be doxxing yourself. If you are a journalist you don’t have to worry about being censored. And that is THE calm, you don’t have to worry about censorship.

Focus

Why is censorship the main focus here? Because in a decentralized world, censorship does not exist (depending on what blockchain you use). Why is censorship a critical aspect of insanity? It comes down to the hivemind mentality. With a hivemind, everyone is collectively insane if fed the same information. They are insane if they consume and conform to information they don’t agree with and need to conform to not feel the wrath of society, even if the information they receive is regurgitated NPC language.

Geography

With web 3 we are going to live in a much more equal world where someone’s geographical location does not bind them to poverty, we are already seeing this in web 2, but with web 3 the ability to streamline information and keep your identity almost anonymous is going to be a big thing for people who live in countries that do not have a robust and multi-dimensional economy and repressive governments.

Monetization

With the creator economy, we are going to eventually live in a time where the information you produce in an online environment will instantly monetize. How though? Basically sending your information into a data aggregation block on a blockchain. For data brokers to succeed in web 3 they know that they need to pay you directly for your information. Data brokering, as unethical as it is serves a necessary function in society to make the internet as a whole more scalable. In the web 2 environment, your data gets sold without your permission, in web 3 they will force you to sell your data and force you to accept payments for it. It is cheaper for them and more profitable for you to sell your information in a web 3 environment. Whereas now in web 2 you are selling your information and not being paid for it.

Sell Your Data By Proxy

So everyone is a content creator in web 3; now how do you stand out? You emit as much information as possible. Now if web 3 is supposed to be more anonymous why should you send your information out? It’s not you per se who sends your information out, it’s your avatar and how you use your avatar, and how your avatar emits a change in personality in the person using it. You see in a world that can’t be censored, avatars will be the way to mask your real life from your internet life. Your internet life is your work life in the next ten years. You will also be able to have a separate internet life for your personal life. We are coming to a reckoning period in a society where people are realizing that there needs to be a way to use the internet for work without your personal life getting thrown into it. With web 3 that realization becomes a reality. Are you seeing why censorship will be dead in web 3? You can use separate wallets for each avatar. One wallet represents your personal life online, another your work life online. These are things that are going to be very important in cooling down societal temperatures across all countries and cultures. Women in repressive societies don’t have to worry about doxxing their personal lives at work. Journalists don’t have to fear death when releasing damming information on corrupt actors. Children can learn much better in a web 3 environment without the fear of bullying and being incentivized to learn by paying them to learn by monetizing the information they provide based on how they learn. People can work from home and be as productive as they are in the office. The use of an avatar is one of the main reasons why JPEG NFTs became mainstream in web 3 before ENS domains did.

Conclusion

I know this was short my long articles, but here is a nutshell. We are living in a new age of openness without actually being open. We are able to monetize the actions of our avatars and how to use them. We are now living in an area of decentralized information sharing and decentralized planning.
