In 2012 the mass awakening of humanity began when James Holmes shot up a movie theatre in Aurora, Colorado. The rest of the 2010s were defined by mass shootings, mental health awareness, and unspoken hostility towards others. The message being sent here was less about mass shootings and the people who do it, but the reaction of people to the shootings.
It’s like this. If someone shot up a school how would you feel about it? Would you feel disgusted? Sadness? Anger? These reactions are why these shootings happen in the first place. Would you even care if the media didn’t bring it up?
An overreaction to chaos will breed more chaos. Think of it like this when some mentally ill psycho sees the people being disgusted at a mass shooter wouldn’t that create an ANTI-HERO COMPLEX in him and make him want to do the same thing? It’s illogical to think this way, but most things that happen in this world aren’t driven by practical logic. They are driven by Zero-Sum Logic.
Would you want a shooter to kill 12 people in a movie theatre, and have the national discourse discussing mental health? Or would you rather have a nation full of psychos that lead to over 100 homicides a day one by one, which in one year is 36,600?
Obviously, mass shootings won’t help homicide rates plummet, but it does force people to talk about things that cause them. If a society realized what made someone kill wouldn’t people be kinder and gentler to each other? The year 2021 has been an abortion. With mass shootings not gaining much notoriety, you have a nation full of narcissists at loose. Last week in Denver there were three school shootings, but no one cared. It’s only once the media forces you to care that you end up realizing what might cause it.
So what does this have to do with the Path To Absolute Power? Power comes to two kinds of people and two kinds of people only. The technically gifted and/or the creatively gifted. The creatively gifted DESIGN the chaos, and the technically gifted IMPLEMENT the chaos.
The creative FANTASIZES about new ways to murder, the engineer CREATES the new way to murder. Engineers are not creative and creatives are not engineers. One needs the other to survive.
The filmmaker in Hollywood DESIGNS futuristic Nike shoes. Back To The Future (1985). The engineer IMPLEMENTS it.
2021 was a boring year.
Think of cultural reforms the same way you think of financial market CORRECTIONS. Sometimes the stock market goes down just so it can go back up. Modern art went to shit, but now with NFTs it’s gone back up.
Culturally the world has gone stale, but a new cultural bull market will arise. Expect filmmaking to become great again with the rise of independent filmmakers and web3.
The average-minded person cannot come up with great ideas for chaos.
NFTs have become this century’s GREAT EQUALIZER. Creatives and engineers both profit dearly from it. The POWER of collaboration you will see among engineers and artists will delve mankind into another renaissance age. Without the quagmire of 2020 and realization that the US Dollar wasn’t good it diverted people’s attention to crypto and then naturally to NFTs. This paragraph is not a digression, but rather planting the seed that power will come to those who COMPARTMENTALIZE and manage online cults.
Who are the chosen ones? Those who see the need to cap off peaks and manage valleys. Basically, Joker is the real protagonist. Batman is an out-of-douche with a savior complex who allows that complex to get in the way of progress.
What’s the path? Create something great (Steve Jobs). Plant an idea into the ether that will transcend time (Christopher Nolan). Kill people to make them question their submission (Osama Bin Laden).
In conclusion. Think wild and implement it wild.
